Software Development and Other Random Stuff

Moved to Netflix

This week I started a new job at Netflix as a Senior Software Engineer on their API Platform team to work on this: http://techblog.netflix.com/2011/02/redesigning-netflix-api.html.

Hence, the silence while I’ve worked at Apple is somewhat lifted so I may get back to writing on my blog more often – particularly about technical things.

Dual Big Screens for Development

Martin Fowler comments on something I agree with … big screens increase productivity and make development easier.

U3 on Flash drive very uncool

I agree with this post http://www.mischel.com/diary/2006/06/23.htm

Why does a flash drive come with a permanent CD-ROM partition on it that can’t be removed by formatting and that mounts every time I put it in?

Very wrong. Very.

… a little later while trying to remove the stupid thing … it’s even worse … the only uninstaller available is for Windows only! Freak! (http://www.u3.com/uninstall/) I really don’t like this company.
